Formed in 2017, Jo Below are a four-piece melodic hard rock group based in Helsinki, Finland.  

Founded from the ruins of Devil I Know, Jo Below consists of frontwoman Johanna Kari, guitarist Roni Seppänen, bassist Jonne Lindqvist and drummer Olli Vartiainen.

The group are influenced by wide range of styles varying from southern rock to grunge and pop-punk. Driven by singalong choruses, heavy rock riffs and high-quality production, the band serves an interesting blend of classic rock and modern American-style hard rock … dare we call it ’Modern Classic Rock’?

Jo Below released their debut EP ”By The Rules” via Inverse Records in September 2020. Their second EP "No Control" will be out on April 16th 2021.

Bio :

If colour can communicate forebodings of feelings and introspective mental states, then the album cover of LIZZARD's Eroded would be an adequate synopsis of the current state of the world: the ochre, brown and green feel tired, worn, drained, eroded... but the bright yellow and orange and the central white parts insinuate a statement of hope, and in that the album art couldn't be a more adequate representation of LIZZARD's music: a melting pot of invigorating riffs, heavy driven groove and catchy vocal hooklines. In early 2021, Eroded comes as a strong, hopeful voice expressing the suppressed yearning for an end of this madness which we all carry inside.

LIZZARD recorded with Rhys Fulber in L.A.(Paradise Lost, Fear Factory, Front Line Assembly...) who confesses his love for their "marvelous poly-rhythmical sound". It is true that LIZZARD's songwriting is distinguished by at times intricate rhythmical patterns, but these are always woven into the fabric of immensely catchy song constructs. The technical prowess here is well concealed behind the glaring allure of the immediacy of raw, in your face rock music.

Formed in 2006, when Katy Elwell (drums), William Knox (bass) and Mathieu Ricou (guitar & vocals) met and discovered that they  hared a common vision in music, LIZZARD soon set out to work on their sound with a mission to find their own idiosyncratic approach to contemporary rock music – music that makes confident reference to the past without romaticising it. In many ways, Eroded is a trip back to the best parts of the 90's, but in the sound of 2020.

Sophomore album Majestic was released in 2014 and met with great critical acclaim: a more spontaneous and raw affair compared to its predecessor, recorded live and produced by the band themselves, the album captures the intense energy the band unleashes on stage. “We’re very much a live band creatively speaking”, says bass player Will Knox. “All of the writing sessions happen in our rehearsal space rather than at home. We believe that to capture any vibe, the chemistry between members needs to occur in real time... at least for us.”

Shift, released in 2018, opened new doors for the French trio: “Lizzard accomplish the perfect balancing act between music that is challenging and catchy in equal measure”, Metal Hammer raved. The band opened for Gojira and Terry Bozzio who invited them to perform on Drum Channel, and embarked on month-long European tours with the likes of HIGH ON FIRE, THE PINEAPPLE THIEF and the ADRIAN BELEW POWER TRIO.

Recorded during a long month of voluntary isolation at the legendary Castle Studios in Germany, Eroded brings a light at the end of the tunnel: “the vibe on the album is generally one of hope and an invitation to stay alert to the light within ourselves, and to keep moving towards brighter destinations.”

Bring on the future and for once, let it be the past, as we knew it before the pandemic.

Guitaristes tunisiens, le débat - ZanZanA Live Streaming Show

Hedi Fahem, Tarak Ben Sassi, Aymen Louhibi, Kais Hassen, Khalil Seibi, Fourat Thamri, Tarek Mourali étaient réunis le dimanche 10 janvier 2021 pour parler trois heures durant de différentes problématiques relatives aux guitaristes en Tunisie

Parmi les sujets abordés :

- La situation financière du musicien aux temps du coronavirus et quel plan d'action en vue d'une amélioration à long terme,

- Jouer des reprises ou des compositions dans les bars en Tunisie,

- La scène musicale actuelle en Tunisie et éléments à améliorer,

- Regrouper les énergies pour créer un événement musical regroupant les musiciens et groupes tunisiens à travers une association,

Jirfiya, l'interview - ZanZanA Live Streaming Show

Jirfiya est le fruit de la rencontre entre des musiciens de différentes origines, Ingrid ( OSCIL) et deux anciens membres du groupe de metal mélodique Born From Lie, Jérôme et Pascal.

Leur premier Ep « Wait For Dawn », produit au hybreed studios, salué par la critique, sort en 2019. Les 5 titres portent en eux l'urgence et l'indignation face à la noirceur du monde et une actualité toujours plus révoltante.

Riffs percutants, mélodies accrocheuses et mélange des voix, sont leur signature déjà bien affirmée.

Jirfiya a sorti le 25 novembre 2020 son premier album, "Still Waiting", toujours enregistré au Hybreed studios, et complète sa formation avec l’arrivée de Nicolas à la batterie. Dans cette plongée dans la noirceur de notre monde, la rage, l’indignation et l’envie de s’exprimer aux côtés de ceux qui ne veulent pas lâcher leurs idéaux reste intacte."
